I really hate it when people say that Jess never really loved or cared for Rory. 

Jess really only ever loved Rory. It was shown in so many ways and so many actions. He wasn’t the type of person like Dean who would say “I love you” all the time, but he showed it in other ways. He showed it by the way he said “Come here” after their first official kiss being together. He showed it by the way he’d randomly glance at her, and look so content by just looking at Rory. He’d show it by calling her when he left the second time to just hear her voice for only a second. He showed it by after her saying “You could do more” he really did. Rory pushed him to be the better person, and she was the only one person who he let in enough to do that. He tried to get along with her mother just because she asked. He started to care more about everything in his life than just getting by and himself. With his other girlfriends, he never really listened to them. He’d just make out with them, and treat them like they were just there. But not with Rory. He talked to her, and shared his interests with her. You can see it in how he’d hold her face while they kissed like he couldn’t get enough. He looked it up, you know, how far Rory would be from him. He came back after he saw Rory in New York. He came to a place he didn’t even like or feel he belonged in, because he loved her and wanted to see her that bad. He KNEW RORY better than anyone of her boyfriends ever had. He showed up at her Grandma’s house and even told her that her dropping out of school WASN’T her. Her wake up call was from Jess. Jess did everything for Rory, even if he showed it in different ways. Jess DID care and love Rory.
